Rahul Gandhi Tests COVID-19 Positive, PM Modi Prays For His Speedy Recovery
Rahul Gandhi tests positive for Coronavirus : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been infected with the dreaded Coronavirus. The Congress Leader took to Twitter to inform that he has mild symptoms.
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has tested positive for Coronavirus. Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to reveal that he has tested Coronavirus positive with mild symptoms and asked everyone who have come in contact with him recently, to follow all Coronavirus protocols and be safe.
"After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” Rahul tweeted.
PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter to wish Gandhi a quick recovery.
Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram wished him speedy recovery: "Learned that Mr Rahul Gandhi has tested positive and has isolated himself. Deeply concerned. I wish him a full and speedy recovery."
Earlier during the day, Rahul Gandhi demanded that the government should transfer money into the accounts of the migrants who are returning to their hometowns due to the lockdown. He tweeted in Hindi, "Migrants are again moving back, so this is the responsibility of the Union government to transfer money to their accounts. Will the government, which is blaming the public for the spread of the Covid, take such a public supportive step."
Amid massive rise in Covid cases in the country, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday had suspended all his political rallies in West Bengal and asked other political parties to think seriously about the consequences of holding huge rallies under such circumstances. "In view of the Covid situation, I am suspending all my public rallies in West Bengal. I would advise all political leaders to think deeply about the consequences of holding large public rallies under the current circumstances," Gandhi wrote in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Delhi has witnessed a major surge in daily Coronavirus cases. On Monday, 23,686 people were infected with Covid-19 and 240 patients died. On Monday, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former Union Minister Anand Sharma also tested Coronavirus positive. Both are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
