PUBG fans are eagerly awaiting the official release of the game's India version after its ban in September. Earlier this month, PUBG Corporation revealed to make a comeback to the Indian Markets soon, raising the expectations and excitement among the gamers. However, the relaunch of the game has apparently been delayed in the country as India’s top child rights body - the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)- has demanded appropriate legislations in place ahead of the launch of such online games.

"It was an internal meeting and prima facie, the NCPCR is not in favour of recommending such games in the country," NCPCR chairperson Priyank Kanoongo said, as quoted by news agency PTI.

The viral gaming app Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) was among the 118 Chinese apps that were banned by the Indian government in September over national security concerns amid the border tensions with China.

To do some damage control, PUBG Corp had revoked China-based Tencent Games' authorisation of PUBG Mobile franchise's operations in India. To deal with privacy and data security related concerns, PUBG said it will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users' personally identifiable information to ensure security and safe data management.
