Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, via video conferencing on Tuesday. The event was attended by dignitaries and devotees of Sathya Sai Baba from around the world, including Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer.

During his speech, Prime Minister Modi praised the services of the Sathya Sai Trust and commended their various programmes aimed at serving humanity. The Prime Minister highlighted the cultural diversity and grandeur of the convention center, emphasising that it would become a focal point for discussions on spirituality and academic programmes. Modi emphasised the importance of good conduct by leaders in society, as society tends to follow their example. He cited the life of Shri Sathya Sai as a living example of this principle.

The Prime Minister further mentioned India's economic achievements, such as being one of the top 5 economies in the world, having a thriving startup ecosystem, and having expertise in digital technology and 5G.

Encouraging the transformation of Puttaparthi into a digital economy, Modi noted that a significant portion of real-time online transactions in the world already take place in India. He urged devotees to work together to make the entire district of Puttaparthi digital by the next birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

He said that all the devotees have connected with Prasanthi Nilayam irrespective of language and culture, and it is this desire that weaves India into a single thread, making it immortal. He recalled the opportunity he had to interact with him and live in the shelter of Sathya Sai’s blessings.

He remembered the ease with which Sri Sathya Sai used to convey deep messages. He recalled timeless teachings like ‘Love All Serve All’; ‘Help Ever Hurt Never’; ‘Less Talk More Work, ‘Every Experience is a Lesson -Every Loss is a Gain’. “These teachings have sensitivity as well as a deep philosophy of life,” the Prime Minister said.
