New Delhi: For the auspicious and momentous occasion of Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Ayodhya wearing a golden kurta paired with cream coloured dhoti and his iconic gamcha which he uses these days to cover his face due to the coronavirus outbreak. This will be his second transnational travel after the coronavirus-induced lockdown. Prime Minister Modi will deliver an hour-long address after completing the Bhoomi Pujan. He will first reach Lucknow and from there travel to Ayodhya.

The PM will plant 'Parijaat' sapling using traditional drip irrigation method ahead of 'bhoomi pujan'.



According to reports his schedule for today will be:

  • At 11:40 am PM Modi will perform Puja at Hanumangarhi



  • At 12:10 pm, he will visit Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi



  • At 12:15 pm, the Ram Lalla visit will be followed by plantation It may also get extended depending on the ceremonies.



  • However, the stone-laying foundation will start at 12.30 pm.



  • Around 12:40 pm, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the temple. He is expected to deliver an address after this.



  • Around 2.05 pm, he will depart in a helicopter.



  • The PM is expected to take off for Lucknow at 2.20 pm.


Ayodhya is fully prepared for the historic moment. In the morning today children and youngsters were seen making rangoli designs on streets of Ayodhya including the Naya Ghaat. A number of shops are also shut and will open only in the evening. Shopkeepers have lit earthen lamps outside their shops to celebrate the joyous celebration. The ceremony will be broadcast live by Doordarshan.
