A joyful moment turned into a tragic incident as a woman who was posing for a photo with her husband was swept away by a powerful wave in front of her child who was heard screaming in horror. The video of the incident has now gone viral with netizens debating the risks that people take to click photos or selfies.

The couple was seen sitting on a rock while posing for pictures being clicked by one of their children. The screams of the child could be heard as a massive wave lashed the boulder the couple was sitting on and within a fraction of seconds tragedy stuck. Police reached the spot after being alerted by the bystanders.

Officials, as quoted by NDTV said the victim Jyoti Sonar was swept away during a high tide on June 9 but the video has become viral now.

Her body was recovered after a 20-hour rescue operation by the Mumbai Coast Guard on June 10. Her husband Mukesh told the police that he was saved by a man who grabbed his arm but his wife could not be saved."I lost my balance and we both slipped. A man held me while I grabbed my wife, but she could not be saved," he told NDTV.

The family had initially planned to visit Juhu Chowpatty but were not allowed entry due to high tide after which they changed their plan and decided to head towards Bandra, India Today reported. Upon reaching Bandra Fort, they went closer to the sea to click a few photos. While the couple sat on the boulder, their children were away at a distance clicking their photos, moments before a massive wave swept Jyoti away.
