New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday said that consent for attending offline classes, exams will not be mandatory for students of class 10th & 12th.
The Education Department of the Delhi Government has issued an official order in this regard on Tuesday. This order will apply to all the schools in the city. According to this order, now both class and exam of class 10th and class 12th students will be offline only.
The parent's permission will not be required for this. Along with this, both an online class and offline class for class nursery to 9th and class 11th will continue till March 31. However, from April 1, they will also run offline only.
“All government, government-aided, non aided, unaided, recognised, NDMC, MCDs and Delhi Cantonment Board Schools may, henceforth, conduct offline classes as well as exams for students of classes 10 and 12. Consent of parents for attending offline classes/exams will not be mandatory for students of classes 10 and 12,” the circular said.
National Progressive Schools Conference on Saturday wrote a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, requesting to fully open the schools of Delhi from Wednesday itself. In the letter, the association of schools said that there is a huge learning gap between the children from nursery to class VIII.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced that all schools will start functioning offline from April 1.
"DDMA withdraws all restrictions as the situation improves as people facing hardships due to loss of jobs. Schools to function fully offline from April 1. Fines for not wearing masks were reduced to ₹500. All should continue following COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour. The government will keep a strict watch," he had tweeted.
