New Delhi: Major multinational technology company Oracle has decided to stop donations to members of congress after employees asked top management to speak out. On January 6th 2021, U.S. Capitol was stormed by pro-Trump mob which resulted in 5 deaths.
Now major companies have decided to stop contributing to members of Congress, including Oracle.
The company tweeted on Monday; it has decided to pause contributions to anyone who voted against certifying the November 2020 election results through Oracle Political Action Committee (OPAC).

According to a Popular Info report, Oracle’s PAC donated $1,000 to Ted Cruz and $210 to Roger Marshall.
Aside from this, Amazon told Popular Information it “has suspended contributions to any member of Congress who voted to override the results of the U.S. presidential election.” The e-commerce giant donated over $600,000 to Republicans who voted to overturn the election results. Pfizer, the pharmaceutical corporation, said that it will stop donations "to any of the 147 Members of Congress who voted against certifying the Electoral College results" for at least 6 months, according to an internal memo obtained by Popular Information.
A mob of Pro-Trump supporters entered the Capitol building and engaged with riot police while Congress was holding a joint session to count the Electoral College votes that will clear the path to President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration later this month. After the attack, social media giants suspended Donald Trump’s accounts from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Many world leaders condemned the attack. Trump later in a new video message spoke out against the violence, calling it a “heinous attack” and conceded that Joe Biden will be the next US President. Trump also said that he is “outraged by the lawlessness and mayhem”.
Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president on January 20th 2021 and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the Vice President.
