Mumbai: In a shocking development, an abandoned car was spotted in suspicious conditions near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence at Carmichael Road in South Mumbai on Thursday evening.  According to police officials, a suspicious vehicle was found on Carmichael Road today evening under the limits of Gamdevi Police Station. Soon, the police were alerted.


The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team along with other Police teams swung into quick action and reached the spot immediately.


ABP News has learned that the suspected Scorpio car found 500 metres from Ambani's residence Antilia is surprisingly registered under Reliance Industries. However, the number plate of the car belongs to the Jaguar Land Rover model.

Upon examining the vehicle, the authorities found some explosive material Gelatin inside. As per the information, the officials said that it is not an assembled explosive device.


Police inspecting the car said that the registration number of the vehicle was similar to that of a vehicle in the security detail of the Ambanis but it is fake and several other number plates have been found in the car. A letter has also been recovered from the vehicle. Further investigation is going on. 


Taking note of the development, state authorities have cordoned off all the roads leading to the location.
