New Delhi: Municipality officer of Madhya Pradesh's Shamgarh has been suspended with immediate effect after the Congress protested against the obscene dance during Maa Mahishasur Mardini fair organised in the Mandsaur district. Minister Hardeep Singh Dung had written a letter to the Minister of Urban Administration demanding action, the order of suspension was to be issued from the Directorate of Urban Administration, but due to the closure of the office, the Collector issued an order and suspended the CMO.
On Sunday, a case of obscene dance came to light at Maa Mahishasur Mardini fair held in Shamgarh, Mandsaur, on the stage where the obscene dance was taking place, along with the picture of Mother Goddess, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and many ministers.
A video of the purported dance programme surfaced via web-based entertainment showing a woman dancing to the tune of an obscene song. The photos of state cabinet minister Hardeep Singh Dang and Maa Mahishasur Mardini Devi were seen on a banner in the background.

Congress had raised objections to it after the dance video went viral on Monday, Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja tweeted and wrote that obscene dance on stage during a fair program organised by the Shamgarh Municipal Council.
Therefore, Mandsaur's chief municipal officer Nasir Ali Khan was suspended. Sources told IANS that a suspension order was issued by Ujjain's Divisional Commissioner Sandeep Yadav on Monday. A clarification has additionally been looked for from the Mandsaur district collector on this matter.
The suspension order said, "The pictures of Maa Mahishasur Mardini Devi and elected representatives were displayed on the stage where the obscene dance was organised. An orchestra programme was allowed freely by the chief municipal officer, Nasir Ali Khan, without knowing its outline. This shows the official's carelessness," the order read.
