Even though there was a drop in automobile sales in August 2019, the MG Hector managed to keep garnering bookings. Other mid-size SUVs like the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson saw their sales figures improve compared to July 2019. Let’s see which of them were the most demanded ones:

Takeaway:

MG Hector: With a market share of over 45 percent, the Hector was the most-demanded SUV of the segment in August 2019. Even though MG had closed bookings it is expected to reopen them soon.

Jeep Compass: Being the most expensive offering of the segment, it has almost 19 percent of the market share and has also witnessed an almost 19 percent increase in demand.

Mahindra XUV500: One of the oldest SUVs of the segment, it still ranks second in sales of August 2019 but is seeing a downfall too. However, Mahindra is expected to present a new generation model at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Tata Harrier and Hexa: Even after combining the sales figures of both the Tata models, they could not go beyond the 1000 mark. The Harrier has lost 15 percent share from July 2019 whereas the Hexa was limited to its 100-odd sales numbers in the last couple of months.
