Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and President of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, turned 50 on Wednesday. YSR Congress Party leaders have been organising service-oriented programmes across the state to celebrate CM Jagan's birthday.


According to the ABP Desam report, the cadre is organising large-scale blood donation camps in the two Telugu states, other states, and abroad in collaboration with the Red Cross organization. As part of this, the party also undertakes the distribution of fruits, clothes, and food in orphanages and old-age homes.


Reportedly, over 1 lakh people have pledged to donate blood.


The YSRCP activists had been conducting programmes since Monday. On Monday, sports competitions were held across the state. On Tuesday, a large-scale plantation programme was undertaken in the respective constituencies. On Wednesday, the YSRCP cadre organised a large-scale blood donation camp.


Last year, on the occasion of CM Jagan's birthday, over 38,000 units of blood were collected, which set a record.

On Wednesday, CM Jagan will begin the distribution of electronic tablets to over 5 lakh students at a programme in Yadlapalli, Bapatla district. Free tabs are provided not only to Class VIII students but also to teachers. In government and aided schools all around the state, up to 4,59,564 eighth-grade students and 59,176 teachers will have access to a preloaded curriculum from the private online education provider Byjus. According to officials, 5,18,740 Samsung Tabs will be distributed free of charge.


Jagan would formally inaugurate the tab distribution in Yadlapalli, Chundur Mandal, of Bapatla district. The state-wide distribution will run for a week across the state.
