Kawasaki India has launched the 2018 version of the ZX-10R and ZX-10RR in the country. And while most of you may think that, being a Kawasaki, both superbikes will cost an absurd amount of money, that’s not the case, thankfully! Well, that’s because both motorcycles are now assembled at Kawasaki’s Chakan facility, helping the company reduce the cost of both bikes by a significant margin. By how much, you ask? Well, with a revised price tag of Rs 12.8 lakh for the ZX-10R and Rs 16.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the ZX-10RR, they are now more affordable by Rs 3.1 lakh and Rs 5.8 lakh, respectively. The new price tag also makes the ZX-10R the most affordable litre-class superbike you can buy in the country.

However, there’s a catch. Kawasaki says these prices are valid only until the end of July. It even added that we should expect the prices to become “significantly higher” after this period. The manufacturer also mentioned that there will be fewer units of the track-focused ZX-10RR when compared to the ZX-10R. All 30 Kawasaki dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for both the bikes, so hurry up before they run out of stock! After all, Kawasaki says it will close bookings once every single unit is allocated.

Both the bikes share the same 998cc liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that churns out a max power of 200PS at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 113.5Nm at 11,500rpm. In terms of electronics, the ZX-10R features three power modes, launch control, ABS, five levels of traction control, a quick shifter, a Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU) and Kawasaki's corner management function (KCMF).

The ZX-10RR packs fully-adjustable 43mm Showa balance free front forks and a horizontal back-link, BFRC lite gas-charged monoshock and specially-designed Marschini 7-spoke multi-directional forged aluminium wheels over the ZX-10R. Additionally, the  ZX-10RR also gets carbon-coated tappets, a stronger crankcase, a more premium Brembo M50 aluminum monoblock four-piston calipers and better aerodynamics too.

At this price, the Kawasaki ZX-10R holds a clear advantage over the Honda CBR1000RR, which was earlier the most affordable litre-class offering with a price tag of Rs 14.78  lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
