New Delhi: Lal Bahadur Shastri, India’s second Prime Minister is one of the popular icons of India’s freedom struggle against British rule. January 11 marks the death anniversary of the influential leader who is famous for his slogan "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" at the time of the 1965 war.
Shastri took over as the second prime minister of the country after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in May 1964.
