New Delhi: After the alleged murder of BJP leader and OBC Morcha Kerala state General Secretary, Ranjith Sreenivas in Alappuzha on Sunday, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Monday demanded the state government a fair investigation in the death of Ranjith. He lashed the Pinarayi government by saying that they do appeasement politics and have been protecting criminals.

The Kerala MoS Home Affairs also said that BJP leaders and workers have been murdered on a large scale and he claimed that at least 200 BJP leaders have been murdered in the state in the last few years. "There is no Law and order here," he told ANI news agency.

Kerala BJP to boycott all-party meeting

The Kerala BJP decided to boycott the all-party meeting called by Alappuzha district collector A Alexander slated for 3 PM on Monday at the Collector office to ensure peace in the district after the twin murders of politicians.

The BJP leaders in the state came to this decision alleging that the dead body of Ranjith Sreenivasan, who was an OBC Morcha Kerala state secretary and the BJP leader contested from Alappuzha in the 2016 Assembly election, was dishonoured. The party members also claimed that the meeting time has been changed and it was not informed earlier to them.

The state was rocked with alleged twin political murders in the time span of 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday as BJP's Ranjith Sreenivasan and SDPI's KS Khan were reportedly attacked and killed in Alappuzha. Following which the district collector A Alexander imposed Section 144 in the district.
