2017 model year Ninja 300 now gets a cash discount of Rs 41,000

Kawasaki India has rolled out a ‘Monsoon Offer’ under which it is offering a cash discount of Rs 41,000 on the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Furthermore, there are rumours that Kawasaki is planning on heavily localising the production of the Ninja 300, which could translate to a price drop of up to Rs one lakh. If the Japanese manufacturer manages to pull off this feat, the Ninja 300 could be in a much better position to compete against its rivals such as the Yamaha R3, the KTM RC 390 and the Benelli 302R.

By doing this, Kawasaki will also be able to reduce the cost of the Ninja 400 to compete against the upcoming BMW G 310 R. However, if you are planning to buy a bigger capacity motorcycle, Kawasaki says it is offering discounts on the Versys 650, motorcycles from the KLX range as well. The Versys 650 is now available at a discount of Rs 16,000, while the KLX range gets a temporary price cut of Rs 5,000 along with a genuine Kawasaki jersey. However, these offers are only available on the 2017 model year motorcycles.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 39PS at 11,000rpm and 27Nm at 10,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and sends power to the rear wheels via a chain drive.

Built on the tubular diamond frame, the Ninja 300 employs 37mm conventional telescopic forks up front and a rear gas-charged Uni-Trak monoshock with preload adjustability. Braking duties are taken care of by the single 290mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear. Its 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped with a 110/70 section tyre up front and 150/60 section tyre at the rear.
