Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge claimed that based on an internal survey conducted by the RSS, the BJP would not secure more than 200 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and would fail to surpass eight seats in the state. Addressing the reporters in Bengaluru on Saturday, Kharge claimed, "RSS' internal survey says they (BJP) won't get even 200 seats."

"RSS is saying it. In the state, they won't cross even eight seats. How will they win, in fourteen to fifteen seats there is internal fighting (in BJP)," he said, as per PTI.

Additionally, Kharge said that several BJP leaders were speaking about the requirement to cleanse the party.

"They (some BJP leaders) are saying that the BJP (in the state) is polluted because of one family. They are saying they want to reinstall the original BJP. Are we (Congress) saying it? No, they (BJP) are saying it. They are also claiming that injustice is happening to Hindutva leaders in BJP like- Basangouda Patil Yatnal, C T Ravi, Ananthkumar Hegde, Eshwarappa. They are fighting themselves, Congress did not create it," he added, as per the report.

Further, Kharge accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of 'lying' regarding his recent statement alleging delay on the part of the state government in submitting a proposal to the Centre seeking drought relief. Kharge suggested that Shah should be dubbed the "Minister of misinformation."

Kharge asked whether CM's meeting with PM, Union Home Minister and Finance Minister was false and questioned the need for 'Amit Shah to lie'.

Meanwhile, the BJP's goal is to secure 370 seats nationwide and over 400 seats for the NDA as a whole in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. At the state level, the BJP aims to clinch victory in all 28 Lok Sabha seats.
