Lucknow: Asserting his government believes in uniting and not dividing, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ruled out any plan for the division of Uttar Pradesh.
He said the people of Uttar Pradesh are proud of their history and added the state has its own importance in the country.
Adityanath said the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh has given attention to the development of the state’s eastern parts and the Bundelkhand region.
“With an aim to usher economic development in these two regions, the BJP Government has been building Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway. The two expressways will become the backbone of development in these two areas,” PTI quoted Adityanath as saying while interacting with the media at his official residence in Lucknow.
The Chief Minister emphasized the state government has created an investor-friendly environment in the state, adding this move has yielded positive results.
Adityanath further said the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh has started a one-district-one product scheme for ensuring the state’s inclusive development. He added this scheme is aimed to transform the lives of the poor and the backward people.
The Uttar Pradesh Assembly had during the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) rule in 2011 passed a proposal to split the state into four parts - Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Awadh Pradesh, and Paschim Pradesh. The proposal was passed when BSP chief Mayawati was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
