New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister-designate Yogi Adityanath likely to take oath as the Chief Minister of the state on March 25 at 4 pm, news agency ANI quoted official sources as saying.

According to official sources, the swearing-in event will most likely take place in the Ekana stadium, with tens of thousands of people expected to attend, news agency IANS reported.

The BJP is compiling a guest list for the event, which will include beneficiaries of different government initiatives known as 'labharti,' who played a key role in the party's re-election.

Around 200 VVIPs will also be accommodated at the stadium.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president J.P. Nadda, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and others, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and several significant personalities, including those from the opposition, will be invited.

Officials in charge of the preparations stated that the event will be "unrivalled" in terms of beauty and magnificence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its partners regained power in Uttar Pradesh, which held elections in seven stages, the first on February 10 and the last on March 7.

The BJP, which won 312 seats on its own and a total of 325 with allies in the 2017 elections, was reduced to 255 (273 with allies) in the 403-member legislature; nonetheless, the party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) remains well over the 202-seat majority level.
