New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. According to soources, a serious discussion is goin on over the cabinet expansion of the state amid rumblings within the party.


Sources have revealed that Congress turncoat Jitin Prasada is likely to be inducted into the cabinet. 


The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is facing dissent by the MLAs and MPs which led to review meetings in the state by the saffron party. State leaders of the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), including Dattatreya Hosbale, have also given similar reports.


Apna Dal (S) leader Anupriya Patel, a BJP ally from Uttar Pradesh who was a minister in the first Modi-led government, also met Home Minister Amit Shah which suggests that the saffron party is reaching out to build allies to improve its position in the state which will go to the assembly polls early next year.


According to reports, Home Minister Amit Shah wants to make the Yogi Adityanath cabinet and party structure more "accommodating". It will also require a fine balance of caste equations within the organization. The CM currently has 42 ministers and can add 18 more.


UP CM is also scheduled to meet BJP president JP Nadda and hold a discussion regarding the cabinet expansion and rumblings within the party.


Yogi Adityanath will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind. It is supposed to be a courtesy meet.
