Ghaziabad: After cases of White & Black fungus were reported, recently, an ENT specialist from Ghaziabad has reported cases of Yellow fungus. Bot Black & White fungi are considered dangerous the doctors are saying that the Yellow fungus is much worse than those.
Ghaziabad's ENT specialist Dr BP Tyagi has said that while the White fungus targets the lungs and Black fungus targets the brain; Yellow fungus affects both the organs.
According to Tyagi, no such fungus has been found in any human being before today, although it has been seen in some types of animals.
A patient's son rushed his father to hospital after he started bleeding from his nose and eyes, he reportedly has Yellow fungus. The man has recently recovered from Covid-19 after nearly 2 months. Currently, doctors are treating Yellow fungus with Amphotericin B injection, which is a broad spectrum antifungal.
According to media reports, the symptoms of Yellow fungus include lethargy, low appetite, or no appetite and weight loss. Severe symptoms can cause leakage of pus and slow healing of wounds, malnutrition and organ failure and sunken eyes due to eventual necrosis.
Bad hygiene can cause Yellow fungus to grow, so it is important to keep you home and your body clean. Make sure that no food is getting spoilt and is disposed off properly. There shouldn't be any fecal matter and should cleaned as soon as possibly to keep bacteria and fugus from growing.
The temperature and humidity levels of the room matters, it is good idea to track it and the ideal humidity level 30%-40% to keep fungus from growing. Moisture and heat help fungus to survive and spread easily.
