According to the early reports, the former minister called in for dharna demanding that the armed forces be deployed to help migrant workers reach their homes.
Taking to his personal Twitter handle, former BJP leader informed the public of his arrest.
Sinha was joined by Aam Aadmi Party leaders Sanjay Singh, Dilip Pandey among several others who demanded proper arrangements for moving stressed migrant workers back to their states.
During the protest, Sinha said that both central and state authorities have "failed" to cater problems of migrant workers, forcing them to walk on roads, with some even dying in the process.
"Our simple demand is that the responsibility be given to the armed forces and paramilitary forces that they should, with all resources at their command and with whatever civilian resources they can commandeer, send these migrant workers to their homes with dignity," he said.
