New Delhi: As the year 2021 is about to get wrapped up, the search engine Yahoo has released Year In Review 2021, a collection of top personalities for the year 2021. The compilation list features the topmost personalities, newsmakers, and events, based on users’ daily search habits.
The top searched personality of the year 2021 is Narendra Modi, followed by Virat Kohli and Mamata Banerjee. The fourth most searched personality was Siddharth Shukla followed by Rahul Gandhi.
The top newsmakers of the year 2021 were farmers’ protests followed by Aryan Khan who also made a debut in the category after he made it to the headlines for being arrested by the NCB in a case of alleged drug trafficking.
The list also mentions the most searched politicians which are topped by Narendra Modi undisputedly. Modi was followed by Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi.
Further, the list mentioned the top searched celebrities of the year in the male and female category. The most searched male celebrity of the year was Siddharth Shukla who died an untimely death earlier this year.
On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan was the most searched female celebrity who topped the headlines for multiple reasons from her newborn Jeh to the controversy about her role of Sita in a movie.
While Shukla was followed by Salman Khan and Allu Arjun, Kareena was followed by Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Kaif is still in the news as she gets married to Vicky Kaushal. Priyanka made it to headlines recently amid the controversies of her divorce as she dropped Jonas from her Instagram handle.
The most searched sports personality was Virat Kohli with his share of highs and lows this year, Elon Musk became the most searched business personality as he was the one to launch a private space transportation service SpaceX.
