Bihar: A day after ‘sources’ revealed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has sought an explanation from Deputy CM and Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav over his alleged involvement in illegal funds and land deals; Tejashwi faced Nitish on Wednesday during Government’s cabinet meeting.

Speaking to media after a cabinet meeting, Lalu's elder son Tejashwi said, "BJP is afraid of Mahagathbandhan". The deputy CM termed the incident as an attempt to malign his image and added, "The alliance is strong and will not break. BJP will get a fitting reply".

He further said stated that he has been framed in a case which took place in 2004, when he was 13-14 years old.

As per sources, Nitish had on Tuesday ‘indirectly’ sought an explanation and a resignation from Tejashwi during party’s cabinet meeting.

Post which Rashtriya Janta Dal had asserted that he won’t resign as there is no substantial proof against him.

All eyes now lay on Nitish’s Wednesday’s meeting, as several big questions like will Tejashwi be present in the meeting? And also, if Nitish would sack him from the Government for he had assured that he won’t entertain any ‘tainted’ leader in his Government and ‘Tejashwi’s presence has put a big question mark on Nitish’s claims.

Earlier, CBI had raided the official residence of Lalu Yadav and several locations linked to him and his family over alleged land deal scam.

These locations included the residence of Lalu’s daughter Misa Bharti.
