New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Staurday said that the government will develop Jammu and Kashmir so much that even the people in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir would ask to merge with India.

Speaking on the occasion of foundation-laying ceremony of a cancer institute in Jammu, he said that he was been instructed by the Modi government to carry out massive development work in Jammu and Kashmir,

He said that a day will come when PoK residents will demand a merger with India.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh was also present at the function.  Singh had recently said that after revocation of Article 370, the next step for the government would to be to reclaim PoK and make it part of Indian territory.

On Saturday, while inaugurating government hospital in Kathua Governor Malik said, "In the eyes of the country, Governor is a person who plays golf and does nothing for public, he/she just rests during their governorship.

But the amount of work that we have done in last 1 year, I don't think even an elected government does that much work."

He said that scores of hospitals across the country were willing to invest in the "medi-city" for which the Central government has finalised land in both Jammu and Srinagar.

"We have decided to have a 'medi-city' in both Jammu and Srinagar. We have finalised the land. A lot of best hospitals across the country are willing to invest in them. We will bring them here and operate the medi-city," said Malik at a public meeting here.

The governor said that Jammu and Kashmir is now directly connected to the national capital. "This is a golden opportunity. The situation is such that you can ask whatever from the central government. They have kept their hands open," he said.
