New Delhi: Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's clothes, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi showed his torn kurta while addressing the audience from the stage on Rishikesh, Uttrakhand.

On Monday, during addressing those present he suddenly stopped his speech and showed torn, right pocket of his kurta. He put his hand which came out from the other side!

First, he removed his jacket and then he showed his worn kurta.

"Modi always talks about poor but never spotted with them. It's only the rich and powerful who are seen by his side in frames," said the Congress VP.

Rahul was speaking at ‘Vijay Sankalp’ convention of party workers in Rishikesh.

As he showed his torn kurta, the venue resounded with clapping.

Speaking at ‘Vijay Sankalp’ convention of party workers here in Rishikesh, Gandhi also alleged, “The RBI governor got a letter a day before that PM Modi took the decision to demonetise currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. The soul of the financial RBI, which is roughly 60-70 years old, was killed in a minute. Now, only one person will run the country.”

Rahul Gandhi further alleged that Narendra Modi worked for industrialists.

"A suit of Rs 15 lakh and spinning wheel -- there is a contradiction. Spinning wheel represents poor people, weaker section, which connect them with economic progress. On one hand, Modi clicks photo with a spinning wheel while on another, he works for top 50 industrialists," Gandhi said.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry on this statement: BJP's Nalin Kohli

Commenting on this, BJP's Nalin Kohli said, "I don't know whether to laugh or cry on this statement of Rahul Gandhi. He shows his torn kurta but goes for the holiday in the foreign country. I have never seen him in a small car. But yes for a photo opportunity at times he may have stayed for a night in a poor person's home."

"PM Modi never takes holiday, goes to foreign countries for work. In that too, as per reports, he takes flights at night so that he reach in morning and start his work.", BJP member said.
