West Bengal Assembly Elections: 44 seats across five districts - Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, and Hooghly will vote today.
WB Elections Phase 4: Polling for the highly charged phase 4 West Bengal Assembly Elections is underway and a lot of high-profile candidates and actors are in the fray. The stage is set in 44 constituencies across five districts where polling is being held The polling process for phases 1, 2, and 3 of the state elections took place on March 27, April 1, and April 6, respectively.

In Phase 4 of the West Bengal assembly elections, 44 seats across five districts -- Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, and Hooghly -- go into polls.

9 seats in Cooch Behar -- Mekliganj, Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar Uttar, Cooch Behar Dakshin, Sitalkuchi, Sitai, Dinhata, Natabari, and Tufanganj.
5 seats in Alipurduar -- Kumargram, Kalchini, Alipurduars, Falakata, and Madarihat.
11 seats in South 24 Parganas -- Sonarpur Dakshin, Bhangar, Kasba, Jadavpur, Sonarpur Uttar, Tollygunge, Behala Purba, Behala Paschim, Maheshtala, Budge Budge, and Metiaburuz
9 seats in Howrah -- Bally, Howrah Uttar, Howrah Madhya, Shibpur, Howrah Dakshin, Sankrail, Panchla, Uluberia Purba, and Domjur.
10 seats in Hooghly -- Uttarpara, Sreerampur, Champdani, Singur, Chandannagar, Chunchura, Balagarh, Pandua, Saptagram, and Chanditala.
Important Candidates in fray
The prominent faces going in Phase-IV polls are Babul Supriyo who will lock horns with sitting TMC MLA Arup Biswas from Tollygunj, TMC’s secretary-general Partha Chatterjee will take on film actor Srabanti Chatterjee of the BJP from Behala West, TMC turncoat Rajib Banerjee who is contesting from Domjur in Howrah district on a BJP ticket.
Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, who is also the Trinamool's secretary-general, will take on film actor Srabanti Chatterjee of the BJP in Behala West seat to return to the assembly for the fourth successive term.
Another actor Payel Sarkar is running from Behala East for the BJP while cricketer Manoj Tiwari is batting for the Trinamool from Howrah North.
BJP MPs Locket Chatterjee and Nisith Pramanik are contesting from Chuchura and Dinhata seats in Hoogly and Cooch Behar districts respectively.
