BJP's Mansukh Mandviya visited Sisir Adhikari at his residence to invite him to Shah's Egra rally along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's March 24 public meeting at Kanthi in Purba Medinapur.
Confirming the invitation from BJP top brass, Sisir's son and TMC MP Dibyendu Adhikari told reporters, "We have spoken to the BJP leadership. We will take the final decision about whether to attend or not tomorrow morning".
Speaking to ABP News during Shikhar Sammelan, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya also hinted at the possibility of Sisir attending Shah's rally today.
The TMC veteran had previously been removed as chairman of the prestigious Digha-Shankarpur Development Council and president of the Trinamool's district unit.
Suvendu Adhikari joined BJP at a rally of Amit Shah in December last year. His other younger brother Soumendu left TMC to join the saffron party shortly after.
Meanwhile, it is unclear if Sisir Adhikari and his son Dibyendu will join the BJP during the campaign on Sunday.
