New Delhi: As flood waters receed in some parts of the country's technology hub Bengaluru, the weather department predicts another spell of heavy rainfall in the city and south interior Karnataka, for the next two days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over a few places in coastal and south interior Karnataka on Thursday and Friday, and interior Karnataka on September 9-10, according to the IMD, reported news agency PTI.

Rainfall to continue in several states till September 11


Intense rainfall spell to continue over South Peninsular India for the next four days while subdued rainfall activity is likely to continue over most parts of northwest India during the next five days, the IMD said in its weather bulletin on Thursday.


Odisha and Maharashtra are expected to receive heavy rainfall during the next five days. Heavy showers with thunderstorms are also forecast over southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in the coming few days, said the weather department.


States in the eastern region and along the western coast are also likely to receive heavy rainfall till September 11. The northeastern part of the country is expected to witness heavy rain during the next few days. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Uttarakhand between September 9 and 11.


Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Kerala & Mahe in Puducherry on 7th & 8th; Coastal Karnataka during September 7-9; South Interior Karnataka on 8th; North Interior Karnataka on 9th & 10th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam & Telangana during 8th-10th September, 2022, the IMD bulletin read.


Isolated heavy falls, thunderstorm/lightning over Andaman & Nicobar on 07th & 08th; Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha  09th-11th; Gujarat, Gangetic West Bengal on 10th & 11th; Bihar, Jharkhand, East M.P on 11th; over Odisha, Marathwada, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra during next five days, IMD predicted further.


Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Odisha on 9th & 10th; Gujarat Region on 11th; Madhya Maharashtra during 08th-11th and over Konkan & Goa during 09th-11th September, 2022, IMD forecasted in its bulletin.


Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm is expected over Arunachal Pradesh on 07th & 08th. Smilar weather activity is also likely over the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 10th & 11th September.


Fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning is forecats over Uttarakhand during 9-11 September.
