Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the citizens 'Happy Independence Day' on Tuesday on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day. While taking it to X (formerly known as Twitter), PM Modi wrote, "Best wishes on Independence Day. We pay homage to our great freedom fighters and reaffirm our commitment to fulfilling their vision. Jai Hind!"

The Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar also extended his wishes and wrote, "Warm greetings on the momentous occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day. Today, we honour the extraordinary sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters and pay tribute to the architects of modern India, whose tireless endeavours paved the way for a strong and resilient nation. Let us reaffirm our dedication to the core Constitutional principles of unity, justice, equality and fraternity. As we stride ahead, let us build a determined, progressive, and prosperous India that embodies the rich civilizational ethos of ‘Bharat.’"

President Droupadi Murmu paid homage at National War Memorial on this occasion.

The Prime Minister is all set to deliver his 10th consecutive Independence Day address. Since his inaugural speech in 2014, during which he introduced transformative programs such as Swachh Bharat and Jan Dhan accounts, PM Modi has consistently made use of this platform to unveil significant initiatives and engage with the citizens of India on pressing matters.

The 77th Independence Day celebrations are poised to kick off with a meticulously planned schedule of events. On Tuesday morning, PM Modi will join the nation at the Red Fort to pay homage, honour traditions, and celebrate the country's journey towards freedom.
