Bhopal: Extremely frustrated for not getting a fair price for his produce, a farmer set one quintal of garlic on fire at Mandsaur Krishi Upaj Mandi, around 350 km from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.

“I invested Rs 2.5 lakhs in garlic, got only Rs 1 lakh. We do not want any bonus from the government, just the right price for our crop,” the farmer named Shankar Sirfira told the media.

There was, however, no further damage at the wholesale market as the staff at the mandi and other farmers doused the flames promptly.

Commenting on the same, the police said that there was no damage to anyone else in the vicinity.
