WATCH: "Stay calm sir..", student tries to comfort pilot after Suryakiran IAF crash in Bengaluru
New Delhi: A student who provided a helping hand to the injured Suryakiran aircraft pilot after the fatal crash in Bengaluru, is earning commendation on social media.
A video of the student holding hand of the injured pilot is circulating on Twitter. In the video, the student can be heard saying: " Stay calm sir, nothing has happened," as he pressed his hand strongly. The video was apparently shot by the student named Hemmath Kumar himself.
The video was taken immediately after the two IAF aircrafts crashed mid-air at the Yelahanka Air Force station in Bengaluru as the debris landed in a nearby ISRO layout. As the debris landed, people of the locality along with the young student rushed to the spot. He tried to comfort the pilot by saying: "Stay calm, stay calm. They are coming. Nothing has happened. Stay calm.”
A Twitter user shared the video of the incident: "Hands of solidarity! "Stay calm sir, nothing has happened", says a civilian as he holds the hand of an injured Suryakiran IAF pilot, even as others try to help."
While many appreciated the young boy's gesture, there were others who strongly criticised him for filming the episode. Two planes of Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran Aerobatics team crashed at Bengaluru’s Yelahanka airbase during 2019 Aero India Show. As per the latest reports, three pilots were occupants where two pilots ejected and the third pilot sustained fatal injuries.Hands of solidarity!
