New Delhi: The Guwahati airport’s passenger’s lounge was flooded with rainwater due to its leaking roof, after the city was lashed with torrential downpour for about an hour and a half on Monday night.

The video of rainwater seeping in from the ceiling of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport’s passengers lounge, has gone viral.

In a footage shared on YouTube, the rainwater can be seen showering above a conveyors’ belt of a luggage screening machine. Passengers reportedly had to move away with their luggage and many of them even got drenched.

Though it led to inconvenience for the passengers, no flight operations were affected, reported PTI.

The rains started at around 8:45 pm and continued till 10 pm on Tuesday night.

The officials said that the canopy had been recently expanded and it was an initial teething problem, which was immediately attended to.
