A report by news agency PTI stated that minutes before the rally entered the town, a power outage blacked out Mhow on Saturday. As per the eyewitnesses, there was a complete black out twice in the span of 15 minutes at Dr B R Ambedkar’s Memorial located on the outskirts and the town itself.

The power supply was, however, restored within 15 minutes before Gandhi's arrival at the Ambedkar memorial, they said. The information about power failure went viral on social media within seconds.

Asked about the power outage, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said the blackout could be part of the state government's conspiracy. Meanwhile executive engineer Rajesh Mahor of the MP West Power Distribution Company told PTI that the power had tripped  due to a technical problem.

The yatra, which is passing through Madhya Pradesh, was joined by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet minister T S Singh Deo on Saturday.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra left for Delhi after taking part in the foot-march for three days. The march, which began from Mortakka in Khandwa district on Saturday morning, broke for lunch at Manihar, after which it resumed from Umeria Chowki where Baghel and Singh Deo, two rivals in Chhattisgarh Congress, joined.
