New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Shimla to address the Garib Kalyan Sammelan on the occasion of the eight year anniversary of his government, received a heartwarming gift from a girl amongst the crowd cheering for the Prime Minister.
In an 18-second video shared by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the girl could be seen touching PM Modi’s feet as she gave him a sketch of his mother, Heeraben. PM Modi accepted the souvenir and asked the girl her name and where she lived. PM Modi also asked her how much time it took for her to complete the sketch to which she replied that the sketch was made in a day.

While on his visit to Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 11th instalment of financial benefits worth Rs 21,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme to more than 10 crore families in the Himalayan state.
The event has been organised under year-long celebrations of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, all the eligible farmer families across the country are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year payable in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000. The funds are received by the beneficiary farmers directly in their bank accounts.
The PM had released the 10th instalment of this scheme on January 1 this year worth more than Rs 20,000 crore to over 10 crore beneficiary farmers’ families.
