New Delhi: Pakistani defence experts commentating in TV shows appear to be baffled with PM Narendra Modi's visit to Israel.

One of the debates was moderated by controversial Pakistan actress turned TV News anchor. She is seen ranting against PM Modi and Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu. In the show, Hariz Nawaz, a defence expert calls the strengthening of India-Israel relations as "dangerous" for the region.

"Modi wants to destabilise Pakistan. India purchases weapons and technology from Israel. The nexus that is forming between them is dangerous in this situation when Pakistan-China relations are becoming close," he said.

In 92 News, another defence expert says Modi has a clear agenda of targetting Pakistan.

None of them in the various TV shows are seen discussing terrorism being bred in their own soil.

Some commentators say the exercise is aimed at countering Pakistan’s military strength. and most of them believe the two countries were working against Islamabad.

Modi’s three-day visit to Israel is the first by an Indian prime minister to the Jewish nation. He was warmly received by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu along with his entire cabinet  at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport. Both said the two countries must co-operate to fight the menace of terrorism.

Israel's foreign ministry Mark Sofer, ahead of Modi's visit had said, "You have suffered from terrorism from inside India, and not just emanating from Pakistan, which has been seen in recent history."

Pakistan is closely watching Modi’s historic trip to Israel as it can have serious implications on strategic stability in the region, a media report in Pakistan said.
