New Delhi: The Tawaghat Lipulekh National Highway has been blocked after a large chunk of a hill fell near Najang Tamba village in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh, on Friday evening. While no loss of life or property has been reported, 40 passengers are stuck there due to the closure of the Adi Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route which goes via Najang Tamba village, ANI report.

This comes a day after the Rudraprayag landslide, National Highway-109 was blocked after a sudden landslide led to the roll down of debris near Tarsali village. The blockage of the NH led to long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road.
The state has received heavy rain over the last few days, triggering landslides in the hills. India Meteorological Department, IMD senior scientist, RK Jenamani on Friday informed about an orange alert for very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand till Sunday.
"Orange alert for very heavy rainfall issued for Uttarakhand from 23rd to 25th Sept. Rain is expected to increase over western UP tomorrow," the scientist said yesterday, as reported by ANI.
In another incident, around 400 pilgrims were reportedly stuck in the Uttarkashi district due to landslides, on Thursday. According to the Uttarakhand administration, the road between Uttarkashi and Harshil (Halgu Guard and Gabnani) was blocked due to landslides since Thursday evening due to excessive rainfall in the area.
