NEW DELHI: A two-storey building hanging at the edge of a hill was washed away within seconds along with the mud in Karnataka’s Madikeri.

The video of the landslide shows how dangerous the situation in the district has turned due to the incessant rain in monsoon-ravaged Karnataka. It is said that due to the landslide, the building collapsed.

No casualties reported and the building was evacuated before it collapsed.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday announced a grant-in-aid of Rs 200 crore for relief work in districts hit by floods and landslides in the State due to incessant rains.

The Chief Minister said Rs 237.55 crore was available with all district commissioners and there was no dearth of funds to take up relief measures. He said the district administrations have been asked to estimate the losses and submit a report in couple of days.
