NEW DELHI: Authorities in Saudi Arabia reportedly arrested a number of people after a video emerged showing them drinking and dancing at a ‘mixed’ party in Jeddah city.

The clip, posted on YouTube last week, shows a group of men and women dancing on a terrace.

After the video went viral, Jeddah Police made a special task force to investigate the clip and arrested the prime suspect, who during interrogation admitted to organising the party.

The case has been referred to Public Prosecution, which may proceed to press charges, and work has begun to identify any other guests, reported The Mirror UK.

Saudi Arabia has strict rules on mixed socialization of unrelated men and women. The country also prohibits the use and sale of alcohol.
