The matter got heated when six farmers were killed in police firing. The agitated farmers demanded better prices for their produce and waiver of loans.
The only question that has caused turmoil in the country is“how can a protest turn so violent?”According to social media, four viral videos are claimed to be the cause of violence in the state.
The first video shows Congress leader Jitu Patwari hurling abuses at the protesting farmers. Jitu Patwari is an MLA from Rau seat of Indore. When we initiated further probe and asked Jitu Patwari about the truth, he claimed “I asked the senior police officers to mind their own work and stop lathi charge without turning violent.”
But in further investigations it was made clear that the viral video is from Indore where the police is seen damaging motorcycles. Jitu Patwari was not hurling abuses to the farmers. Therefore, the claimed viral video has no connections with the Mandsaur violence.
The second viral video shows a man pushing a police officer and later a group of people beating him up. The video has created the buzz with a message, “farmers beat up policemen who were trying to control the violence.”
Later in further investigation, it was rectified that the police involved has a different uniform then that of MP Police. The video dates back to 2012 and the incident happened in Firozabad district of UP.
Adding fuel to the fire, MLA Shakuntala Khatik from Kerara was caught on camera asking people to set a police station on fire. The authenticity of the video is still not justified as Shakuntala Khatik was unavailable for the comments.
