New Delhi: Police have registered a case against 8 people dancing with a photo of Mughal Ruler Aurangzeb’s photo in Maharashtra’s Washim district. The video of the dance went viral in the district on Sunday night.


According to the sources close to ABP News, the procession of Dada Hayat Qalandar Saheb was taken out on the night of January 14 in Mangrulpir of the district. Two huge photographs were waved in the crowd of sandal dancers, one of Tipu Sultan and the other of Aurangzeb. After the video went viral, the police have registered a case against a total of 8 people.


According to the sources, two people have been arrested in this case so far. In protest against the incident, the local Hindu organization of the city burnt the effigy of Aurangzeb. The police force has been deployed at various places in the city to avoid untoward incidents.






"Some youths carried Aurangzeb's photos during Dada Hayat Qalandar's urs on Jan 1 & raised slogans. Case registered," Mangrulpir Inspector was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.
