Leaders from across the nation were seen performing Yoga on Wednesday to mark the 9th International Yoga Day. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were among the politicians who performed Yoga. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a state visit to the US will also perform Yoga at UN Headquarters today at around 5:30 pm.


Defence Minister Rajnath Singh along with Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar performed Yoga on board INS Vikrant. News agency ANI shared a visual of the Union Minister.






Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw performed Yoga in Balasore to mark the 9th International Yoga Day.






Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also seen performing Yoga in Dhubri on this occasion.






Union Minister Smriti Irani was seen performing Yoga in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on Wednesday.






Union Minister Piyush Goyal performed Yoga in Mumbai on this occasion.






Union Minister Anurag Thakur was seen performing some Yoga exercises on the 9th International Yoga Day in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.






Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan performed Yoga at Savitribai Phule University, in Pune on Wednesday.






Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion shared his message with the world through a video.






PM Modi arrived in New York on Tuesday and received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora who dotted the streets from the airport to his hotel. PM Modi will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters and hold bilateral talks with President Joe Biden in Washington. He is visiting the US at the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, will depart on June 24.The visit also includes an address by PM Modi to the joint session of the US Congress on June 22.
