Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (May 1) in New Delhi and expressed his gratitude for his guidance and cooperation in the development of the state. The Chief Minister presented the Prime Minister 'prasad' from Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, Gangajal of Ganga Tulsi, Gangotri Yamunotri, Alaknanda, and Mandakini, as well as Rudraksha beads.


According to an official statement, during the meeting, which lasted more than an hour and a half, CM Dhami sought the Prime Minister's advice on a variety of issues concerning the state's development.


The Chief Minister stated about the Char Dham Yatra arrangements, "A record number of devotees are coming to visit. The Central Government is assisting in relief efforts in Joshimath. There is nothing unusual about the situation. The Prime Minister pledged the Central Government's full cooperation in the context of Joshimath," the statement said. 


CM Dhami requested that the Prime Minister set aside time in October/November 2023 to inaugurate the proposed Investor Summit in the state.


He requested that PM Modi visit Jageshwar Dham, Adi Kailash, Parvati Sarovar, Om Parvat, and Mayawati Ashram in Lohaghat, as well as deliver a public address in the border district of Pithoragarh and lay the foundation stone for various development schemes in Manaskhand.

The Chief Minister stated that air services are gradually expanding in the state as part of the Prime Minister's regional connectivity scheme.


In order to expedite the development of air services in the state, he also requested that the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, direct the concerned parties to expedite the resolution of cases pertaining to the state.


CM Dhami announced the acquisition of 243 acres of land for the expansion of Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport. A feasibility study for the expansion of Pantnagar Airport has been completed.


He asked the Director General of Civil Aviation to renew the licence of Naini Saini Airport so that NTRO could issue a no-objection certificate for the expansion of Jollygrant Airport.


Dhami also urged the concerned to direct the Dehradun-Pithoragarh-Hindon air service and the Dehradun Haldwani-Pithoragarh Almora helicopter service to run smoothly.


"The Chief Minister said that a target of increasing the state's gross domestic product to Rs 5.5 lakh crore in the next five years has been set." It is proposed to hold an investment summit in the state in October/November 2023 to attract investors in the tourism, agriculture, industry, health, education, and service sectors," according to the statement.
