Seven people were killed and one was seriously injured after a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV) rammed into a parked truck at Baberu Kamasin Marg in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night, police told news agency ANI. The car with eight people collided with the truck, killing five on the spot and critically injuring three. Tragically, two more people died despite being taken to medical facilities. 


According to the report, as soon as the incident came to light, CM Yogi Adityanath directed the district administration officials to immediately reach the spot and take the injured to the hospital for proper treatment.


The District Magistrate of Banda, Durga Shakti Nagpal told ANI, that 8 people were in the speeding vehicle when the crash occurred five died on the spot while three people who survived the crash were moved to a Community Health Centre where one person passed away. The other two were in critical condition so they were shifted to a government hospital.


"Among the 3 admitted to a Community Health Centre, one died and rest 2 are in critical condition, they have been shifted to a govt hospital”, Nagpal was quoted as saying.






Later, SP Banda Abhinandan Singh told reporters that one more person had lost his life at the government hospital. The only person who is alive was moved to a medical college and was in a stable condition.


"...another died in CHC and one more died in District Hospital. The last person who is still alive is admitted to Medical College. His condition is stable..," says SP Banda Abhinandan Singh.
