New Delhi: In line with the commitment to provide the best possible health facilities to the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate seven new autonomous medical colleges on October 25.


Modi will inaugurate the medical colleges from Siddharth Nagar, informed Adityanath after inspecting the venue of the newly created Madhav Prasad Tripathi State Autonomous Medical College and meeting with the officials.

Where will new medical colleges come up in UP?


Modi will inaugurate seven new medical hospitals from the 'Land of Buddha' (Siddharthnagar), as per the news agency ANI. Prime Minister will inaugurate the Madhav Prasad Tripathi State Autonomous Medical College, and virtually inaugurate medical colleges in Deoria, Etah, Hardoi, Ghazipur, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh districts from here," according to Adityanath.


Constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, Adityanath said the new medical colleges will be named after great personalities of the country.


For example, the medical college in Siddharthpur will be named after Madhav Prasad Tripathi, Medical College of Deoria will be named after saint Maharishi Devraha Baba, the Medical College of Ghazipur after sage Maharishi Vishwamitra, Medical College of Mirzapur after the goddess Vindhyavasini, Medical College of Pratapgarh after Dr Sonelal Patel and finally the Medical College of Etah will be named after the freedom fighter Avantibai Lodhi.


While elaborating on the status of medical colleges, Adityanath said two years ago he had announced to set up a medical college in Siddharth Nagar district and now it is ready.


Along with this, seven medical colleges of the state have got recognition from the National Medical Council, according to IANS.


The admission process for 100-100 MBBS seats will be started through NEET in all these medical colleges from this session. This medical college is aimed to offer benefiet to not just people of Siddharth Nagar but Balrampur, Maharajganj and neighbouring Nepal would have access to best medical facilities.
