New Delhi: Taking a swipe at Opposition parties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that 'parivarwadis' deprived the Ghazipur region in Uttar Pradesh of development for many decades.
Addressing a rally in Ghazipur, PM Modi asked the gathering to give a befitting reply to those 'pariwarwadi' parties through the ballot. Ghazipur will vote in the last phase of polls on March 7.
"Each and every vote will take us to record victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. It will give us new energy to work for development and growth. Each vote will give a befitting reply to those 'pariwarwadi' parties," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also accused the 'pariwarwadis' of burning the settlements of "our Dalit brothers and sisters". "The people of Ghazipur have not forgotten the time when one of our promising colleagues, Krishnanand Rai, was sprayed with bullets," PM Modi said.
On November 29, 2005, Krishnanand Rai, 50, who was an MLA from Mohammadabad assembly constituency in Ghazipur, was sprayed with bullets along with six others in Ghazipur by a group of assailants armed with AK-47 assault rifles.
PM Modi also said that the panic that existed during the regime of previous governments had been replaced by the welfare of the poor.
"Those roaming in open jeeps during the riots are on their knees today. The panic that existed during the time of the previous governments has now been replaced by the welfare of the poor," he said.
Earlier in the day, addressing a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district, PM Modi said the government would not spare any effort in bring home Indians stranded in Ukraine.
He said India could evacuate its citizens stranded in war-hit Ukraine because of its rising power.
Taking a jibe at rivals, the Prime Minister said those who questioned the valour of armed forces and 'Make in India' can not make the country strong.
