NEW DELHI: A video has emerged on the internet from Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal, wherein a local BJP leader could be seen assaulting a specially-abled man with a stick after he said he will vote for Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav.

In the 19-second video, BJP leader Mohammad Miya can be seen trying to force the stick he was holding into the specially-abled's mouth when he said, "Vote denge Akhilesh ko (Will vote for Akhilesh)."

When a journalist opposed the BJP leader for his shameful act, Miya confronted him and engaged in an argument. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media and earned criticism for the ruling saffron party.

The police, which reached the spot after Miya had left, detained the specially-abled and issued a challan, saying the man was drunk.

Miya later claimed the man passing indecent remarks on Prime Miniter Narendra Modi.
