Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia stated on Tuesday that he has tested positive for Covid. The union minister was on a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh and he met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday.

"I want to inform you that my Covid report has been found positive. I request all of you that all those who have come in contact with me in the last few days, should go to the nearest health centre and get themselves checked," the minister tweeted.

His announcement came only hours after he caused a stir by abruptly departing the state BJP headquarters, where he was scheduled to attend the core committee meeting. However, party leaders claimed that he had gone because he was ill.

Scindia was in Bhopal on a two-day visit to attend the monthly core committee meeting of the state BJP unit, which he shares with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Notably, he had met Chouhan the day before, IANS reported.

It was the inaugural core committee meeting of his new state unit BJP headquarters, which will serve as a temporary office for the next two years.

Earlier today, He said that ex-Congress president Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' will have no influence on the impending Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. Scindia made the statement while in Bhopal for the state unit party's core committee meeting. He did, however, leave the party headquarters before the meeting could resume.
