Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced the launch of the 'Mera Yuva' platform on Wednesday, designed to cater to the needs of nearly 40 crore young individuals in the age group of 15-19 years. The platform, introduced during a Cabinet briefing, is envisioned as a one-stop solution for youth engagement and two-way communication, news agency PTI reported. 






Describing the platform's functionality, Thakur explained, "The 'Mera Yuva Bharat' platform can serve as a one-stop hub for youth and initiatives to engage with them. It will facilitate two-way communication."






What Is 'Mera Yuva' Plaform?


The 'Mera Yuva' platform, as per the Government of India's YUVA website, is an online Youth Leadership and Social Engagement Platform. Its primary goal is to empower and engage young people, encouraging them to become leaders and active citizens within their communities. The platform offers various tools, resources, and opportunities for youth to develop their skills, participate in social impact projects, connect with peers, and contribute to the governance process.


According to a PIB statement, the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), an autonomous body, will benefit youth aged 15 to 29, in accordance with the definition of 'Youth' in the National Youth Policy.Beneficiaries of programme components aimed specifically at adolescents will be between the ages of 10 and 19.

The primary goal of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) is to establish it as a platform for youth development across the entire government.  With access to resources and connections to opportunities, youth would become community change agents and nation builders under the new arrangement, allowing them to act as the Yuva Setu between the government and the citizens. It aims to channel the enormous youth energy for nation-building purposes, as per the statement.
