Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Thursday reacted to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot calling him a “traitor” and said that it was unbecoming of him to use such language. “It is unbecoming of someone with such experience to use such language; I've always refused to do so,” Sachin Pilot said.

“Ashok Gehlot is a senior and experienced leader. I don't know who is advising him to put out such false and baseless allegations against me,” Pilot said. “BJP was poorly defeated in Rajasthan when I was the party president. Still, the Congress president gave Gehlot another chance to become the CM. Today, the priority should be how we can win the Rajasthan election again,” he said. "Name-calling, mud-slinging serve no purpose. It's time to unitedly fight the BJP to defeat it and strengthen Rahul Gandhi's hand," he added.

Gehlot called Pilot "gaddar" six times during the conversation while referring to his rebellion in 2020 that brought the Rajasthan government to the brink of collapse.

“A gaddar (traitor) cannot be the Chief Minister," Gehlot said, adding "the High Command cannot make Sachin Pilot the Chief Minister... a man who doesn't have 10 MLAs; who revolted. He betrayed the party; (he) is a traitor.”

“It must be a first for India that a party president tried to bring down his own government," Gehlot said about Pilot's revolt in 2020.
