NEW DELHI: Ukrainian model Daria Molcha, who was arrested from a Gorakhpur city hotel in April and was in Gorakhpur district jail, was released on Friday.

She has been sent to the Ukraine Embassy in Delhi under high security. In April, the 20-year-old Ukranian model was arrested by UP STF on charges of illegally staying in India without a visa.

As per media reports, Molcha revealed that she had entered India through Nepal using fake documents provided to her by Gorakhpur businessmen.

The Intelligence Bureau had alerted the  STF after suspicion over Molcha was being used as a 'honey trap' to procure confidential information relating to internal security.

Daria first arrived in India in 2016 and worked for a modelling agency.  Later, due to her suspicious activities, her visa was blacklisted and she forced to leave the country. Again in December 2017, she again arrived and was made to return from the airport due to the government ban on her stay.
